GUSPCA April 2007

Hi there :)

The holiday period has been a busy time for animal organisations. The RSPCA is still being swamped with lots of unwanted pets and stray animals. This is why the continued push for compulsory desexing is vital, to ease the number of unwanted litters of kittens and puppies being born.

Volunteering in the Desex Clinic over the holidays. I have seen first hand the amount of strain this has created on resources for the RSPCA. It is heartbreaking to think of the living conditions these animals would face if it wasn't for the hard work of Animal welfare

New news is the upcoming coffee & chat mornings.  This will be an informal way we can all get together and brainstorm about new projects and discuss issues in animal welfare.

To join as a member please email either Jed (President of GUSPCA), or myself.  Our email addresses are available on the Contacts page.

Have a great month,

Renae.

Who are we?

GUSPCA has established an Education Committee, which liaises with the RSPCA Education Department to train Humane Education Volunteers. The Humane Education Volunteers conduct talks at schools and community groups with the goal of educating children about the humane treatment of animals by encouraging children to show empathy and compassion towards them. Again, students gain real life experience working alongside professionals from the RSPCA Education Department.
